Auburn: Endurance Capital of the World
The City of Auburn's Endurance Capital Committee proudly presents "Endurance Expo 2007" the first Expo to gather the numerous outdoor
endurance activities in the magnificent foothill region of California. Under
one roof at the Gold Country Fairground's Armory Building you will find
endurance athletes, vendors, clinics and the 2007 multi-media show
reflecting on the highlight of the major endurance events of the year
including the Western States Endurance Run, Western States Trail 100 Mile
Tevis Cup Ride, the Auburn International Triathlon, Auburn Century Bicycle
Ride, Cool Mountain Bike Race, Way Too Cool 50K Run, Coolest 24-Hour Bicycle
Race, white water rafting, kayaking and the Auburn Ski Club. The indoor
event is FREE and will also host a 5 Mile Run and a Bicycle Ride.
Vendors will showcase cutting edge products for runners, hikers, road
cyclists, mountain bikers, equestrians, swimmers, rafters, kayakers, skiers.
Nonprofit organizations promoting health and fitness, as well as
representatives from events that raise funds for worthy causes, will be
there to inform and share their programs.
Brad Kearns (elite athlete, founder/director of the Auburn International
Triathlon and Running'School) and radio talk show host celebrity Jennifer
Richardson are the Masters of Ceremonies and will lead the Expo program
while interviewing athletes and attendees. Activities will be nonstop from
the moment the doors open and will include:
* The celebrated and spectacular multi-media show featuring video and
photographs from regional endurance events accompanied by rousing music
inspire everyone to move their feet. These popular shows, previously shown
at Auburn's Endurance Street Party, are always a inspiring hit with the
crowd.
* A free poster signing at the "Meet the Champions" tables from 4 - 6 p.m.;
scheduled to be present are many of the icons of the endurance world:
triathlete/cyclist Brad Kearns; ultra runners Scott Jurek, Gordy Ainsleigh,
Tim Twietmeyer, Rae Clark and Julie Fingar; endurance riders Hal Hall,
Potato Richardson, Erin Klentos, and Kathie Perry; mountain bike riders Sean
Allen, Jim Brown, and Tom Judy; Junior Olympic youth track stars Zach Stahl

* Clinics about getting started, training, proper gear, and gear
Maintenance; many of these will be conducted by our Endurance Champions.
* Barbecue and Endurance Sports Bar courtesy of the Auburn Rotary Club
* Fun run organized by Auburn Running Company's Dan Moores
* Road bike ride organized by Dan Tebbs of Victory Vello Cycles
* Mountain bike ride organized by FATRAC (Folsom/Auburn Trail Riders
Action Coalition)
* Silent auction and raffle of endurance related items, including a coaching "Date with a Champion" - several of the Champions are offering their time for one-on-one training sessions.
Ride your bike to the Expo! Valet bicycle parking will be provided by the
Cool Cycling Club. The CCC will also showcase their Recycle a Bike program.
